ShilohZone Philosophy
1) We believe non ISSR registered Shilohs are just as "real" as ISSR
Shilohs.
2) We believe Shiloh Shepherd is a breed, not a kennel name.
3) We believe in multiple registries.
4) We believe in live and let live.
5) We value differences as long as they are presented with respect.
6) We believe Newbies are smart enough to figure things out for
themselves--we provide them with some education and data through personal
experiences and health and temperament results. We also provide them with
information about other lists, clubs, and registries and how to find them.
We wish them well whatever decision they make.
7) We believe we can have stimulating discussions (about good, bad, and
ugly) without getting personal and without abusing anyone. That does not
mean we do not provide data (names and dates), it means we present the
information respectfully and without malice.
8) We value first-hand experiences over second-hand stories. In other
words, credibility counts.
9) We value data and to protect the gene pool we want to see breeding
stock tested/evaluated using the criteria defined in each test (be it OFA,
PennHIP, CERF or Temperament test organizations) and this information made
available on the Zone in the databases and to prospective puppy buyers.
10) We value the bad and ugly just as much as the good because there is
oftentimes more learning from what went wrong than what went right.
By joining the ShilohZone I acknowledge this philosophy and agree to abide
by it. Failure to comply in thought, word, and act with this philosophy is
grounds for membership termination.
